Here are some suggested answers (but there's more information on the site!)
-
Before the season begins, you should prepare a disaster kit and make a detailed plan for you and your family.
- You should have food for 3 to 7 days. It should be non-perishable (like canned food, biscuits, etc.).
- You should have cooking utensils, a radio and a flashlight with batteries, a tool kit, a phone with an extra battery.
- You should have some money with you and the important documents should be put in a plastic or waterproof bag.
- Your pets should have identification and you should carry a cage and a leash to keep them with you.
- You should have a friend's telephone number in another city or state, and you should teach your children how to use the emergency number (911).
- You should have some first-aid training, so it's a good idea to take classes.
- You should take your Disaster supply kit with you.
